Tube models enhance the sound image

The Rich Man's Tube

Quite recently the "RMT" loudspeaker was developed. It took over two years of experimenting in order to achieve our goals: the same stereo imaging as our other models and a more pronounced bass response. A wide stereo image can be achieved by simplifying the filter and by keeping the cabinet small. We experienced with 13 cm midrange units in a 20 cm PVC tube but, although the power handling is better and even the midrange is somewhat better in details, we decided to keep the 16 cm tube and the four 10 cm units for the midrange. The difference in imaging was quite remarkable! A problem though was to find a good performing bass unit which could be mounted inside this tube.

In the end we came upon a 15 cm bass unit from Morel which could be mounted horizontally at the bottom. The "Esotar" tweeter was added and the result is a really outstanding performance. The filter is constructed in two parts, a series filter for the mid and high frequencies and the bass filter is in parallel. The result now is that this is a 4 Ohm system and quite some amplification power is needed in order to keep control of the bass performance, tight as can be.

Building this system is quite easy. The building itself takes about 4 hours for a stereo set. But the glueing, lackering and grinding takes a few days to let everything dry out.

These speakers perform very good and reproduce the full audio range from 30 hz at the low end up to almost 30 kHz.

The units are "shielded" so they don't disturb the picture when placed beside the TV.

Any Man's Tube

The AMT is the most sold model. It's a simple two-way system with a tweeter giving the high frequencies and four bass/mid units performing in the range between 45 Hz and 3 kHz.

The tube in this case is 1 meter high and it has four bas/mid units in series/parallel and a better tweeter. The filter type is the same as in the PMT, a series filter of 6 dB/octave. The AMT is a closed box design, so damping is achieved by the closed room behind the units. This means that, when connected to a tube amp, the bass response will be good without "booming".

The units are "shielded" so they don't disturb the picture when placed beside the TV.

The Poor Man's Tube

One of our most populair designs is the "PMT" loudspeaker, shown at the left. PMT means "Poor Man's Tube", the kitprice is quite reasonable for this excellent loudspeaker. This design is made out of PVC tube with a diameter of 16 cm and it's 75 cm high. The filtering is done by a simple series filter of 6 dB/octave. The PMT is a "closed" box design which performs well with a tube amplifier. The frequency response is 50 Hz - 18000 Hz and sensitivity is over 90 dB's. A simple 8 or 10 Watt amplifier will thus give a sufficient sound level. The stereo image of this loudspeaker is superb! The stage is wider than the position of the loudspeakers and it's depth goes tens of meters beyond (given a good recording).

As in all models the PMT also sports a protecting device to prevent the tweeter from being damaged at high volume levels.

The units are "shielded" so they don't disturb the picture when placed beside the TV.

The Mini Tube

The Mini Tube is the smallest loudspeaker in our range. It has been designed to be used in a surround system. When doing so it may be connected to be used as a full range system without filtering the low frequencies.

The units are "shielded" so they don't disturb the picture when placed on or beside the TV.

Placement can be done on the bookshelves or on stands. The latter giving a better streo and surround performance.
